Safe Weigh Station

Model SWS-550

The SWS Safe Weigh Station has the same basic carcass as our EDF range of ductless fume cupboards available from 450mms wide to 1500ms wide.

The SWS model has a hinge down central section at the front opening that is 225 mms wide ie. just wider than the typical balance. This protects the balance from a direct air stream and places a physical barrier between the operator and the balance. Either side of the central portion is left open to provide arm and hand access for the operator.

The bottom section is section of the SWS cupboard is of clear PVC and its dimensions are 550w x 550d x 600h. The top box which is manufactured from white polypropylene houses the filter and fan and its dimensions are also 550w x 550d x 600h. The working chamber has internal lights. The unit has two filters - a 0.3 micron HEPA filter which is protected by a 5 micron pre-filter.

The SWS has no base so it can be placed on to a bench and the work surface could then be protected by 'benchcoat' for example. If a base to the hood is preferred then an optional white polypropylene spillage tray is available - this can be made under size so that the tray fits inside the SWS or alternatively can be made oversize so that the SWS fits inside the spillage tray - providing an internal work surface.

The face air velocity is infinitely controllable by a fan speed controller on the front panel. The built in fan is very quiet, less than 55 dB.

Power to the balance is provided for by having an indent in the bottom edge of the working chamber which will fit over a power cable.

SWS-550 is supplied with lights and a fan speed controller.
