Thorsafe Forensic Evidence Cabinet
for Drying and Storing - compliant with COSHH and OSHA

Used for ensuring a steady drying state for evidence material whilst maintaining safe conditions for staff. Cleaned air flows through the cabinet and any fumes, odours and particles given off by the evidence material are safely contained.

History
Thor UK Plastics have been responsible for much of the development of this technology over the last 10 years and have manufactured the cabinets for other companies to sell. They have now decided to offer their cabinets directly to the police forces and forensic specialists who use them.

Sizes
The standard height of the cabinet is 2,200 mms and the standard depth front to back is 700mms. There is a choice of standard widths - 750mm, 1000mm, 1200mm, 1500mm and 1800mm. Any other sizes can be requested.

Clean Air - Safety
Air enters at the base of the cabinet through electrostatic pre-filters, goes up through the cabinet past the evidence material and then through a second pre-filter followed by a HEPA filter, a carbon filter and finally a second HEPA filter. This arrangement of filters ensures that no chemicals, smells or particles can escape from the cabinet. By having two HEPA filters it means that one could be changed if necessary without risk to the staff and the environment. The airflow is maintained at a constant rate by a low-noise centrifugal fan that will compensate for filter loading. Audible and visual alarms are in place to warn of impaired airflow or fan failure.

Ease of use - Convenience
The cabinet is non-ducted so it can be placed anywhere that is convenient. It has a full-length hanging rail and also perforated removable trays for smaller items of evidence. Cleaning the cabinet and the inside of the door is safe and easy as there is a built in spray bar and also a hand held shower attachment. The door is lockable with tamperproof seals. A Formaldehyde decontamination unit is optional.

Construction and Longevity
The cabinet is very robust being made from reinforced polypropylene and is also very resistant to chemicals. The cabinet can be expected to have a very long useful working life.
